At Kingfishers Colden Common Preschool our mission is to provide exceptional care to children whilst providing opportunities which motivate learning, provoke curiosity and create independent learners.
· We help children find their own voices and enable children to have new and exciting experiences, with a touch of Forest School learning.

We offer a bright, modern purpose-built environment with great accessibility and a large, secure, ‘all-weather’ garden, which we exclusively use during preschool hours. Covering 430 square meters, the garden consists of a patio and Astroturf area with a large climbing frame, covered sandpit and a bespoke mud kitchen!
Children also benefit from our Allotment School programme, lead by Forest School trained staff, plus weekly trips to Colden Common Primary School and numerous outside organisations (yoga, football, dance for example) who visit regularly.
School’s Out (also based at the Community Centre) offer the children from Kingfishers a breakfast and afterschool club, providing childcare either side of our opening hours which is ideal for working parents.
Our team of dedicated and experienced staff ensure our continuous provision supports each individual child’s development, working with outside agencies and specialists where necessary. We adapt our provision to the needs of the cohort on a regular basis.
We also have a qualified Special Needs Co-ordinator and offer small group work daily for those children who need additional support with their communication skills.
Based in Colden Common’s Community Centre, we are open Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 3pm, (flexible drop off / pick up times available) term time only. We welcome children from 2 years old up to reception school age.
We offer the Government Funding scheme for 2, 3 and 4 years olds and accept Tax free childcare and childcare vouchers.

Rainbow Preschool – Ofsted number: 110010
We are based in the Methodist Hall in Spring Lane, Colden Common SO21 1SB and have sole use of the building Monday – Friday, term time. Rainbows is open from 8.30am until 3pm (flexible start / finish times available) and we welcome children from 2years 6months.
We offer the Government Funding scheme for 2, 3 and 4 years olds with no additional charges (unless you exceed the 15 or 30hour entitlement then each additional hour will be charged at £5).
We offer our children a secure, happy, and stimulating environment in a variety of different rooms, plus our garden. We have a very experienced team of staff who are passionate about our continuous provision and plan our play spaces to ensure all the children’s different needs and learning styles are catered for. We have a keyworker system in operation for each child and we also have a Special Needs Co-ordinator. We also have a daily ‘chatterbox time’ for those children who need support with their speech and language. We work very closely with Colden Common Primary School and have regular visits to the school to use their facilities.
