Village Bonfire & Firework display

Q - Who can I contact in case of any queries?

A - Please contact the Scouts directly on 07794 660198. Although the Parish Council own the land on which the event is hosted, they are not involved in the management or running of the event in any way

Q - What time will the gates open?

A - the gates open at 5.30pm. We recommend that people arrive in time for lighting of the bonfire at 6.30pm. Otherwise, there is a good chance of getting caught in the queues and missing the fireworks.

Q - What time is the fireworks display?

A - the bonfire will be lit first and the event team will wait for it to die down before the display begins.

Q - What time is the event due to finish?

A - Dependent on numbers, we hope to get everyone away by 7.45pm. The exit where Boyes Lane meets Main Road will be controlled to keep everyone safe. PLEASE BRING A TORCH - THE LANE IS DARK.

Q - Will the event be cancelled if it rains?

A - The event will continue in inclement weather conditions. If severe rain occurs, the fireworks will be delayed for up to a maximum of 15 minutes. Should it be necessary to cancel the event in advance, word of mouth will be used to advise the public that the event is cancelled, and advertising literature will be amended to show the event has been cancelled or postponed.

Q - Can I buy tickets on the door?

A - Although there will be some tickets for sale on the night, we recommend purchasing a ticket in advance either online, from the Colden Common post office, or the Rising Sun pub. There is a restriction on number of people allowed into the event and we would hate for people to miss out.

Early bird prices are applicable until the 31st October.

Q - Where can I park?

A - The Boyes Lane car park will ONLY be available for disabled badge holders. Please use the car parks at the Community Centre (SO21 1UU), Recreation Ground (SO21 1RR), Taylor Wimpey office car park (SO21 1WP) and walk to Boyes Lane. Please DO NOT block resident's driveways around the village, nor double park on New Road or Spring Lane as this will prevent the buses from being able to drive down these roads.

Q - What facilities are there at Colden Common Park?

A - Public toilets are available inside the Pavilion. Hot dogs, burgers and soft drinks will be available for purchase, as well as glow sticks.
